Hubbard and Woodward Family Ties

I have very little information to go on in the search for Hubbard and Woodward family ties. My great-grandmother, Alice Fayetta Woodward Estes, was born December 18, 1863 or 1865. According to my aunt, Alice's father was killed in the Civil War, before her birth. Her mother remarried to a man named Griffith with whom she had 2 sons, Oliver and Walter. Walter served in Cuba during the Spanish American War. Alice's daughter Rosa, (my grandmother) told her daughters that there were Hubbard cousins on her mother's side of the family. Soloman Woodward and Eliza Hubbard were married January 25, 1851 in Marengo County, Alabama. Soloman Woodward also appears in the 1850 Marengo County census, age 25, male, born SC. I have been unable to find him listed in any other records.

In the 1880 Sumter County census, Eliza Griffith is listed with children Oliver and Walter Griffith, William, John, and Alice Woodward.

The death of Eliza Griffith, age 51, in June, 1887 is listed in Alabama Records, Volume 186, page 81.
